Job Title:	Casualty Claims Adjuster
Department:	Claims - Madison Home Office
Reports To:	Claims Manager
Pay Type:	Salary

Summary:	Casualty Claims Adjuster with an emphasis on auto liability. This position investigates, evaluates and settles auto liability claims. This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reviewing injury/medical payment claims, adjusting reserves, negotiating injury/property claim settlements. The duties outlined below represent the minimum duties required as a Casualty Claims Adjuster. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Functions

Investigate liability and determine negligence
Determines reserves needed and ensures they are adequately adjusted throughout the life of the file
Monitor, evaluate and settle bodily injury claims
Handle medical payment claims
File and answer arbitration

Specifications / Requirements

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent listening skills
Good time management skills
Ability to work independently
Must be reliable, responsible and organized yet flexible
Practical thinker and intuitive decision maker

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree
1-3 years' experience in claims is preferred
