Summary:

A Farm Policy Services Representative is responsible for entering new business and completing all change requests, cancelations, rejections and denials for policyholders.
The duties outlined below represent the minimum duties required as a Policy Services Representative. Other duties may be assigned as needed.


Essential Functions

  • Complete changes to current policyholders requested by agents and insureds.
  • Answer incoming phone calls from insureds, mortgagees, loss payees and agents.
  • Run, review and mail farm renewals and EFTs.
  • Order forms, letterhead, envelopes and toner.
  • Organize forms in storage.
  • Update procedure manuals.
  • Policy changes for altered terms on renewals.
  • Maintain diary for follow up requests on changes/renewals.
  • Take payments over the phone and directly from customers in office.
  • Prepare deposit for manager.
  • Generate policy numbers on new applications.
  • File documents to OnBase.
  • Prepare mail for manager to take to post office.
  • Answer phones for office.
  • Pull cancels and route to manager for review.
  • Report policy detail to home office on ceding.
  • Put cancels in system.
  • Agent of Record changes and letters to agents.
  • Assist with building and grounds upkeep.

Specifications / Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to change.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills are necessary.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of basic computer functions including Microsoft products.
  • Strong customer service skills are advantageous.
  • Capable of fostering partnership in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work and function well together in a team atmosphere.

Education / Experience

  • Prior insurance experience.
  • College level business courses.

Working Conditions

The physical work environment for this position involves sitting in an office setting communicating with others face-to-face, electronically and by telephone. Overtime may be required for this position if requested by a supervisor in order to complete a certain given task in a timely manner.
